Challenging Behaviours
Different people experience sensory overload differently. This may trigger a wide range of complex behaviours that requires expert and professional input from a multi-disciplinary team.

Self-Harm
Self–harm can take many dimensions. People living with severe mental health difficulties can often find themselves experiencing regular suicidal thoughts and urge to harm self.

How we care
Connect 2 Flexicare employs a recovery-based model to provide positive behaviour support for all our users with known behavioural difficulties. People with learning difficulties, autism and older adults who may present with confusion & agitation due to various mental health needs in our care have benefited greatly. There is evidence of tangible positive outcomes and effective behaviour management strategies. We utilise a holistic approach to needs assessment and care planning to facilitate adequate skills and ques for anticipation of aggression to minimise violence and use of restrictive interventions.
When we talk about assessing your needs so we can identify how best to support you, we understand that this is an ongoing process that can evolve in many ways. For some people, we may need to spend a few sessions with you to capture the various facets of your day and needs in your current environment. This is mostly coupled with speaking to other people who may know you better and exploring your needs jointly to help us understand the support we can provide to best meet those needs. To do so, a comprehensive person-centred plan is co-produced with you. We support and encourage you to have as much input as you can offer and those who you know you best.
In addition to all the mandatory training required for our staff to support anyone in our care, we provide tailored PBS (positive behaviour support) & Team Teach training. Our training is sourced from specialist trainers who provide robust and interactive sessions that truly help teach our staff positive behaviour management strategies aimed at reducing the need for physical intervention and restraint.
